Using sources of information to learn about the past

Year 5 have been using historical sources to learn about how daily life has changed throughout the centuries.
They ordered pictures and discussed in groups why they ordered the pictures this way. There were some excellent discussions of what could be seen in the pictures and what can be learned about daily life from these observations.
The children really enjoyed this activity and were amazed that buildings in the Viking times looked like they'd gone 'back in time' compared to the Roman buildings. This then led into a further discussion to determine the reasons for this.
Great detective work Year 5!
