Sport and Competition
Sport is a very important part of life at Hoole CE Primary School. Our Sports Co-ordinator, Mrs Kelly, arranges teaching and learning of PE in addition to a wide range of competitions as well as friendly matches between year groups and against local schools.

We believe that physical education, experienced in a safe, engaging and supportive environment, is a significant factor in developing our children’s physical competence and confidence. As well as being important in its own right, physical well-being can contribute to mental well-being.
We promote physical skillfulness, physical development and knowledge of the body in action. We aim to give a stimulating, enjoyable and appropriately challenging learning experience. Children may learn as individuals, be paired-off or take part in group activities. During co-operative, creative and competitive situations they are encouraged to use their improvisation and problem-solving skills.
Our children are also encouraged to appreciate the importance of a healthy lifestyle and be aware of the factors that affect our health and fitness.
We believe that children should be offered the opportunity to extend their participation in a subject and excel beyond the classroom. Our clubs offer children the chance to do this in small group situations.
We are very lucky at Hoole Church of England Primary School that school staff run many of the clubs and therefore these clubs are offered at no cost. There are an increasingly wide range of clubs and competitive events which our pupils are encouraged to participate in. Traditional sports such as football, netball and tennis are just a few of the clubs which we offer throughout the year.
