A busy week in Year 5!

What a busy week we have had in Year 5!
In Maths, we have been translating Roman Numerals past 1000. We used art straws to make the numerals and then applied this knowledge to word problems.
In English, we have had a debate about whether Annie should go ahead with her stunt and travel down Niagara Falls in a barrel. We then used these arguments to write her a letter. We even travelled to Niagara Falls to interview Annie!
Thursday was Science Day where we learned about the differences in life cycles of mammals, amphibians, birds and insects. We even learned a new scientific word: metamorphosis. Ask us what it means! We researched Paula Kahumbu and learned how she helps elephants in Kenya.
In our SCARF sessions, we discussed dares and whether or not it is a good choice to follow through with a dare. We talked about how they can make us feel before and and after and what other choices we have.
