Christian Ethos

Our school vision ‘Let your light shine’ is founded in Matthew 5:16. Our values of friendship, thankfulness, hope, unity, compassion, forgiveness, justice, endurance and trust are the basis of all relationships, decisions and direction of our school.

We enjoy strong links with All Saints’ Church and local church teams who support us in living out our Christian vision and values. Our experienced and highly skilled governors support offer challenge and support to ensure that we achieve our vision and aims.

Whilst embracing our Christian ethos, we also encourage to explore other world faiths.

Our pupil population is diverse with many different faiths and world views represented within our school family. Members of our school Ethos Committee, who are from diverse faiths, support the work of our school by encouraging pupils to compare and contrast faiths, sharing their own traditions and customs to enrich understanding and ensure that we live well together.

Children are encouraged to show dignity and compassion towards all those around them. We promote celebration of similarities and differences, understanding that every individual in our family is special, unique and entitled to flourish to enjoy a full and happy life.

In line with the Church of England's vision for education, our vision is for the common good of the whole community:

· Educating for wisdom, knowledge and skills: enabling discipline, confidence and delight in seeking wisdom and knowledge, and developing talents in all areas of life.

· Educating for hope and aspiration: enabling healing, repair and renewal, coping wisely when things go wrong, opening horizons and guiding people into ways of fulfilling them.

· Educating for community and living well together: a core focus on relationships, participation in communities and the qualities of character that enable people to flourish together.

· Educating for dignity and respect: the basic principle of respect for the value and preciousness of each person, treating each person as a unique individual of inherent worth.
