We are proud to be working with West Cheshire Credit Union to provide children with the chance to start their savings journey..
All our children have the opportunity to open an account, helping them gain a good financial understanding around the importance of savings and managing their money.
The West Cheshire Credit Union Junior Account pays a competitive 5% interest. Interest is paid on the average balance kept in the account across the financial year (1st October - 30th September).
Children can access their money in their account any time and parents and carers will be provided with information on how to check balances and make withdrawals when the account is open.
ll savings are secured under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme up to a maximum of £85000.
West Cheshire Credit Union are a not-for-profit savings and loans organisation which works on a community banking principal. they do not pay shareholders and all their directors are volunteers which means that any profit made in the year goes back into the running costs of the credit union, any surplus after mandatory costs may be shared out amongst its members, which is called a dividend.
To open an account, parents and carers will need to complete an application form, which is available at any time from the school office or every Thursday morning at the bank from 8.30am. You will need to bring along some ID such as your child's passport or birth certificate and proof of your address.
