Mayan Number system

We love maths so much in Year 5 that we decided that we wanted to learn about the Mayan number system. We compared it to Roman Numerals and our own system. It was tricky to learn at first but after a trip to the woods, we had mastered it!

We created the numbers using sticks, stones and flowers using the Mayan base 20 system. Ask us to explain how it works!
